Guest guest
Marti, The post you mention about someone mailing someone else the leftover meds is the post I originally responded about. Thank you for mentioning that. My intention was not to start any trouble, but to help raise awareness. I know that we are all in pain. I just wouldn't want any of us to get into trouble for doing something that we did not realize was a federal crime. I apologize to anyone who I may have offended with my post. Hi Sharon, You didn't do anything wrong. Prescriptions that are in your name can be mailed to you. My pharmacist, who I asked when I was there today, said that if you are in a place that won't refill your prescriptions, then they can be mailed to you. The pharmacy or your doctor can do it, but most won't because it's too much trouble, but will give to a family member or someone else to mail to you. Anybody can pick up your prescriptions for you in Connecticut at least. I have friends pick up my prescriptions all the time. You are not in conflict with the drug enforcement laws as long as they are being mailed to the person the perscription is for, and that is what you were talking about. I don't know if someone misunderstood what you were talking about or not. Someone said something about mailing what was left of their perscription to someone else who takes that med. Thet is illegal. But to my knowledge you weren't talking about that. Keep posting those posts, Marti --------------------------------- Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Yahoo! Search. Guest guest
just made another post but want to apolize to you directly, as I totally understand what you are saying. No one should want that legal or not on them, and as you stated we all think let me help you, and do not think anything wrong with things seem may be innocent, but again I will mention on my training, we have to know to give anyone anything in a med prescription or not and something were to happen from us doing that to that person, we are opening ourselves up to a lawsuit and whatever other may follow, and how bad would one feel to cause a severe medically crisis over a pill we only tried to help someone get relief with, thera are alot of people out in the world allergic to med's they are even unaware of that could cause them a bad and deadly reaction, would we want to be the one to cause that???? Hope this ends this topic huh?????/ Again sorry for the alarm and mis reading posts. Sharon wrote: Sharon, Like I said, I was not accusing anyone of wrongdoing. I was simply stating (and it was not in response to your post either) about the laws. If you leave your meds somewhere, then yes, they can be mailed to you. IF they belong to you. What I'm talking about is Doe being out of meds (for whatever reason) and Sue having some that she has never used. Sue tells " I'll send them to you " . THAT is what I'm talking about and THAT is illegal. Sorry to get a fire going again. Lord knows that isn't what I meant to do. Was this not the post? Someone mentioned there mother mailing them there pills? I am the guilty one, then of sending off a alert. I know the laws, I work in the health field and know shame on me if I were to even help out my neighbor and give them an asprin if they begged for it, as if they had anything go wrong, and died, became deathly ill, it is my b-tt going down! So No misconduct I don't think to worry about going on here. As I clearly commented, while I was out in Ca, for the winter last yr, awaiting a g.child, my pre set arrangements with pharmacy, Dr. etc on to get my refills while there FAILED, and I was to be without ANY med's. I thought I was in big trouble when it was the PHARMICIST who gave me options, find a dr. out in Ca. to see while on extended trip, or have them mailed by family or friend. Now the red flag came up on me and thought this can't be done unless it is a mail order RX plan I am on, he reassured me, my Dr, backed it up. Since then I have traveling between 2 states, use to be quite regularly I left a RX at my mom's and this was the same thing suggested again, and as far as I researched as I don't break the law, and would not chance losing my licesence's or anything else, have not broken any as long as it is mailed to the person who they belong to shipped c/o and we recieve. This I am wrong on? Why does everything have to have so many different answers. How does one get there med's if they travel and state will not fill, other than this method. Because Ca. WILL not except any other states written perscription on any type of RX, they just will and can not reconize them at Pharmicies. SO anyone who hopefully get's to feeling well enough for a trip and head that way, they told me make sure next time your Dr. will have ON YOUR BOTTLES how ever many refills you will need while away from home. I was gone 5 mo's and that is alot of refills to put on my pain meds, which I don't think my Dr, would go for, as I am on a call in basis now.. So it is the mail route for me until ????? I am arrested. Take Care all and sorry to get the post all fired up. It was totally me, and have to go back now and find out what and where I went wrong to cause it?? Guest guest
I don't think you offended anyone, . It is a good reminder to not post in a public forum about doing something that is illegal. I mean, smoking pot for medicinal purposes is one thing, but mailing prescription meds is a whole 'nother kettle of fish. I appreciated your reminder. I think we've explained it to Sharon, so she knows she did nothing wrong. Have a great day.
