Guest guest
Hello, All Fibromites.... For 3+ years now, ALL of the doctors I have seen were totally obvious when it came to me asking them about my Tongue and Mouth hurting when I ate certain foods. It seemingly all started when I had reactions to several Antibiotics....and then went away after abruptly stopping them.....Now for at least the last 8+ months, it seems like my " mouth and tongue have a mind of their own " (even though I have removed all the drinks and foods that seemed to cause reactions).....my tongue swells, gets huge excruciating painful bumps and sometimes they can be tiny pimple like bumps too around the edges. I am getting " Thrush " outbreaks for no reason in my mouth.....BOTH in my mouth and WOW on my lips too and sides/cracks of my mouth....how PAINFUL!!!! My new dentist prescribed Nystatin 100,000 grams Ointment to use as needed and that worked wonders for the lips..... PLUS, a one pill of Diflucan (which is usually given to women for Candida of the Genital area). ALSO, Nystatin Oral Solution, a swish & swallow, prescription helps to overcome the oral thrush....but we still do not know why I am having these outbreaks..... Does anyone out there have any similar problems or any information on them.......GOSH...I would sure appreciate any/all help. Yes, I have Fibromyalgia and just about all the other symptoms associated with it.....without going into detail now. Well, I think I my 'eyelids' are finally heavy enough to close for me to sleep.....this week has been a horriffic one. Monday, I went for my Social Security Disabilty Hearing. According to how my Attorney and her assistant felt, she is 99.9% sure I won my case....but I have within 30 days to receive the Judges written decision.....So, if anyone would like to include me in their prayers it would be very nice and so appreciated..... God moves in mysterious sometimes. For 3 years, I have battings them, at least 37 doctors and hospitals, 3 surgeries and a shopping bag full of medications..... Yes, I know how bad all of these can be on my Liver, but I am also going the Holistic Route and taking supplements to help out that department.... As soon as positively know that my disability will begin, I have a Chiropractor/Holistic Doctor that a retired nurse, friend of the family goes too, that I will start seeing....He can help my back and get me on a correct medicine regimen.... Enough of my long-winded e-mail...., if I haven't said it to you by now, Thank you ALL so much in advanced for reading and posting for my POST.... Best regards,

I don't tend to get the swelling, bumps, etc, but I do tend to have thrush outbreaks, especially when I've fallen into carbs and sugar, which is far too often lately. Antibiotics throw everything off for me. They kill the normal flora in my body, and that leaves it open to yeast overgrowth, sometimes in places like my mouth. Yeast can grow other places too. I take Diflucan when I get certain symptoms of yeast overgrowth, especially after antibiotics. I also eat a lot of yogurt (without sugar) and take acidopholus. Yogurt, acidopholus and other probiotics help to replenish the normal flora in mouth and G/I tract. I've even used acidopholous vaginally. It sounds like your new dentist has his act together where your treatment is concerned. Nystatin ointment and solution and diflucan are pretty standard treatment for yeast. Did he talk at all about probiotics? Good luck with your treatment! Z
Guest guest
Hi - I've been told I have geographic tongue. When I eat things with rough edges, I will get patches of skin that come off my tongue, making it sore. But I've never had it to the extent of what you describe. Wish I had something more to offere. Sure hope that disability finally gets approved. Take care. Jeanne in WI Hello, All Fibromites....
