Guest guest
Hi, I have a seven year old son, he is a great kid, but the anxiety has caused 2 gastric ulcers, and I am seeing more and more signs of ADHD. My son was diagnosed aspergers a couple of years ago, we handled the first 3 and 1/2 years med free, but now he has to take medicine for anxiety, ulcers, esophagitis, and now we might have an ADHD diagnosis thrown in just to keep us on our toes. Has anyone else been in this situation?, any info on ADHD meds? we went from no meds to now morning noon and night ( I forgot to mention melatonin at bedtime, he has trouble falling asleep, he is too busy worrying what might happen in middle school), this is just an example of the anxiety he experiences. I hit the ground running when he was diagnosed, and he has come so far. Now I am stressed out about putting more medication in him....just looking for help... thanks, Jen
Guest guest
They are about to come out with a series on coping with change and dealing with transitions that are helpful for children with high stress and anxiety...after that series..they will be working on a series for stress and anxiety. It is non invasive and helps the child develop confidence from the inside out...has no negative side effects. I strongly recommend looking into it. Email not displaying correctly? Guest guest
I feel your pain. I have a 9 year old son who has anxiety issues too. Have you thought about taking him out of public school and home schooling him? If that's the main source of his anxiety it may help. Florida has an online school that will base his lesson plans on his strengths and weaknesses and change it to suit his needs when necessary, it's also free.Subject: Aspergers Anxiety and ADHD......help !!!!!!To: sList Date: Friday, October 22, 2010, 7:59 PM Hi, I have a seven year old son, he is a great kid, but the anxiety has caused 2 gastric ulcers, and I am seeing more and more signs of ADHD. Guest guest
Hello, I totally understand your feelings. I have been in your shoes since last year with my son. I thought there was no place or school that he would be able to tolerate, you can believe me when I tell you that I thried almost every thing.(At least all that I could imagin) Finally I placed him at a school that he feels good about himself, appreciated, and has even made some friends. I don't know where you are located, but would probably be a good place for your son. It's located in Broward county but they offer transport to Miami and Palm Beach. The school name is Kentwoood Preparatoty School. They have scholarships and accept McKay; if your son has an IEP could be beneficial for you. I don't know what is more important to you but I was looking for a place where my son could study, feel anxiety free, and feel happy about himself. So far this place has been all of that. You could feel free to talk to me if you wish at . My son has told me, " Mom thanks for placing me at this school. You can't imagine how good it is to feel anxiety free at school. " (This sounds almost like an advertisement to the school but I swear is nothing of that). Take care and I sincerely hope your son can finally find a place when he can feel better.
