Guest guest
----Original Message----- I am in the same situation and try as I might to be upbeat and positive, each day without a call gets a little harder. Please, be happy you have this extra time. Waiting isn’t that hard…..if you spend your time the right way. Is your house/apartment clean enough? Will it pass the mother-in-law test? Can your bills, houseplants and laundry go long enough without being done? Do you have the pantry stocked for when you come home? (Enough house cleaning products, soap, pop, soup etc.) Has your car been checked? It’s going to sit for quite a while, make sure you have a full tank of gas. Do you have any thank you cards on hand? You might need some. What about cards you might need to send to someone else (check your calendar, you’re not going to be able to go shopping for a while.) Is there a special place you like to go? Make a visit, you might not get back there for a while. Did you take dog/cat/cow/horse in for a check up? We planned on being gone a month max – it was 3 months – are you ready for that? When you’ve got all this done, please just sit back and relax. Timing is everything!! If you’re waiting, there very well may be a reason why. Trust in it. The call will come before you know it and you’ll be saying why was I so darn anxious? Barb in Texas - Together in the Fight, Whatever it Takes! Guest guest
I agree, waiting gets harder and harder, especially when you meet people (nurses in my infusion centre who should know better) who ask how it went and how well I look! Well Duh, they should know you just can’t book in and have a transplant whenever you feel the need! It’s worse than pregnancy (and I wasn’t very good at waiting for that to end either), but at least you know that by a certain date it will all be over! Thanks Barb, I’ll try to clean the house more, and shop more, I just run out of energy so easily now. Penny T (in Australia where livers are just as rare!)
