Guest guest
Are there any schools in Florida or any other state in the U.S that have programs for children with Autism who are advancing in their development and abilities? My daughter have shown rapid growth and improvement in her development this year and we cannot seem to find the proper placement for her. She has moved from very low functioning to high functioning over the past few months.

Guest guest
We started intensive behavioral therapy in the home, we increased the amount of hours per week for speech therapy, I spend a lot of hours per day working with her and encouraging her. Also, for part of the day after school she goes to an after school program operated by the YMCA for kids with autism in which she is integrated. I have also introduced her to the computer which she has taken to another level. One very important thing that i did for her was to further educate myself about communicating and interacting with someone on the spectrum. She has also been exposed to a lot of different kinds of environment. All of this coupled with being very patient and calm while working on my hands and knees with her. I learnt that i had to reach deep within her and extract whatever was buried there and it has been working!!! So far, I have rejected the use of drug therapy that has been highly recommended for her, because I strongly believe that at this time it is not needed...
