Guest guest
Welcome to the group! I never really had skin problems until I was in my early 30s, on birth control pills and began to develop a rash on my cheeks. Several women in the group have said that their symptoms began while on the pill. And stress can trigger flares. (My husband was hospitalized with shingles of the head 3 weeks ago and my skin went crazy!) Keep asking questions. This is going to be your best source and a wonderful support. I first noticed the rosacea while pregnant with my son; then it got worse as I hit an early menopause a couple of years later. I have improved since taking HRT, though. The menopause caused hot flashes and almost unbearable stress, which brings me to your second observation... Stress is the number one trigger for my flares - up there with heat and sun. I guess because it starts me flushing and blushing and opens those little capillaries in the facial skin right up! Avoiding stress and/or finding ways to deal with it better have helped me a lot. Yoga, in particular - and Pilates, which is also an exercise regime that does not leave me sweating and red. Even just a brisk early morning walk is something that helps me. I think that the endorphins released during my morning exercise really keep me feeling good all day long. I would suggest you buy Dr. Nase's book - it is excellent. Also, just read through the posts. The information is invaluable! Lastly, don't despair! We've all been there before - and things *do* get better. You *do* have more control than you think over this disease, and you will find what works best for you. God bless! Hope this helps some! Guest guest
You need to get Hall Cutler's book (some libraries have) ... various " natural " chelators like chlorella have been shown to be dangerous, as they just stir up the mercury and then allow it to resettle. He has done an enormous amount of research on this. See Cutler's site: www.noamalgam.com and the Yahoo group Autism- Mercury that he also belongs to http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Autism-Mercury/?yguid=41321200 DMPS, DMSA and ALA are what is recommended for chelation. I've been wondering the same thing about bentonite, so if you do find out, please let me know. > Hi Please could someone let me know if they have any information on the > following > > I have recently have my fillings removed, I belive Seaweed, Chlorella > etc are probably the best things to supplement in order to chelate > heavy metals from your body. Guest guest
A friend of a friend in another state is taking custody of her 11 year old nephew with high functioning autism. Any advice? Guest guest
Hey Terri,Some states, counties, schools have more services than others. She needs as much support as she can possibly get. The teenage years and puberty are just around the corner and we don't know if he is on meds, mainstreamed, has friends, is involved with sports or anything. There is so much information to offer but the only one I can think of right now is that she is a blessing to that young man and to give her the information to log onto this group for a helping hand. With more information the parents here can make recommendations or suggestions. Thank goodness for her and her caring heart. This is a huge responsibility and I hope that all her legal ducks are in a row.
