DID YOU KNOW?that UM-NSU CARD, like all the Statewide CARD Centers, is governed by a Constituency Board of individuals with autism and family members? Please read the holiday note below from our Constituency Board Chairperson. Happy Holidays from the UM-NSU Constituency Board. As we welcome the Holidays and say farewell to 2011, we would like to THANK all of our families for being a part of this amazing organization. We hope you have had the opportunity to benefit personally from CARD’s services and programs and that you have participated in at least one of our many groups, family workshops, community and family-friendly events, or fundraisers. This year has been a successful one for UM-NSU CARD despite unprecedented budget cuts, but that also meant much more work with fewer staff and resources. We ask that you continue to support us by writing to your legislators and letting them know what CARD has done for you. You can also get involved with our fundraisers so we can hopefully add more groups and events for our children and our families in 2012 despite more anticipated budget cuts from the State. Continue to stay connected with our efforts by receiving our weekly emails (you can register for these at www.umcard.org) and following us on Facebook. From our family to yours, HAPPY HOLIDAYS! May you get to enjoy this time with your family and friends. We wish you a wonderful and safe 2012! Sincerely,Ysela Heim, UM-NSU CARD Constituency Board Chair Check out UM-NSU CARD'S Newsletter online!
