This is one of the responses I recvd from my letters. It is definitely not what I personally had to go through which was and still is a nightmare. Buyers beware. ----- Forwarded Message ----- To: Cheryl Fox Sent: Saturday, December 17, 2011 4:15 AM Subject: iBudget Comments

Thank you for telling us what you think about iBudget Florida. Mr. Barndthas given your thoughts to the Director and me. We take very seriously theimpact any changes may have on you and your family. Some of the informationthat is being shared with you has been misinterpreted and has led toconfusion. It is important for you to know that no final decisions havebeen made. The Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) will be looking ateveryone’s comments over the next few weeks. Our goal is to find the mostappropriate solution to help iBudget Florida work in the best interest ofall the individuals we serve. The following information should clarify some of the misunderstandings: · APD remains committed to the guiding principles of iBudget including self-direction, equity, simplicity, and sustainability. · Flexibility

for customers to choose the services that are most important to them remains a top priority. As long as health and safety needs are met, individuals will be able to use the iBudget system to select the services that best fit their needs. · It is not APD’s intent to categorize or limit the choice of services available. · The method for determining the iBudget extraordinary needs component has not been finalized. APD is continuing to review this issue for the best possible solution.Again, thank you for emailing us.Sincerely,Barbara PalmerChief of Staff

PM Dear Mr. Barndt,From: Karp Sent: Thursday, December15, 2011 2:43 PM To: MONTFORD.BILL.WEB Subject: iBudget Comments DearSenator

Montford, Clearly, the latest incarnation of the iBudget is goingto be a disaster for the developmentally disabled currently receivingservices under the DD Medicaid Waiver. Choice and self-direction are vitalto this population, however both these would be eliminated, or at bestseverely restricted, if current proposal stands. Most of all, our budgetshave already sustained several cuts recently, any more will severely impactqualify of life, certainly for my own 18 year old autistic child, as wellas for the majority of those affected. Please do not use the iBudgetprocess to cut our services. We need the legislature to step up and fundservices for the developmentally disabled. Please do not use the iBudget process to cut our services. Hi All, That is the same response that I received as a result of the email sent through Goldstein. It appears that all we can do is email our objections every time we get the opportunity. If we do nothing, they will walk all over us. From ElaineMother of 31 year old son with autism living in a group home. The Legislature has impacted is budget so much that he now has to pay for his own transportation to his Adult Day Training. Otherwise, he would do nothing all day.
