My hepatology & anesthesiology team recommended propofol for my last ERCP and it worked far better than anything else that had ever been used on me before. I was terrified of the concept of 'general anesthesia', but now I'm no longer afraid of the medication or of how I'll respond to it. I've used a tremendous amount of pain relief over the years of my illness, but the propofol worked great and this time my doctors didn't have to fight my body's violent reaction to the scope. This is the only way that I am scoped these days. My anesthesia

charges for a year usually exceed $4,000.00 USD. I have heard that

liver disease patients are more likely to be " anesthesia aware " than

the general population. My doctors used to try and keep me sedated

with only Demerol and Versed injected together; I never fell asleep.

At least the general anethesia used is short term. Best of luck to you.

Todd won’t have any

procedure done unless propofol is part of the equation…even his wisdom
