common bile duct wall thickening

How many of you have had common bile duct wall thickening ? Braden's

CBD has had strictures that required at first several balloon

dilations, has had many obstructions with sludge and gallstones, 13

ERCPs and many stents placed and also several huge cuts-

sphincterotomies- to help with bile flow. I know mural thickening of

common bile duct walls is a classic PSC marker and something that is

monitored when looking for CCA. Braden's CBD walls were 2.0 mms, 2.5

mms, 2.7 mms now 3.1 mms . I have read that walls 3.5 mms thick are

diagnostic for CCA- any thoughts or feedback appreciated.

We have switched doctors for Braden after a ridiculous amount of

political crap going on with his former GI dr..long story but his new

hepatologist hasn't even talked to us about his liver problems yet- we

are still dealing with just the GI for now for his short bowel

syndrome problems. We are going through everything slowly..and there

is a lot going on.. to find the best plan for Braden.

My daughter who is 27 has psc. The last MRI showed her bile duct

measureing at 4mm. Her hepatologist was not concerned about this in

the least. She had a reconstruction of her bile ducts 8 years ago, so

I'm not sure if this would still be relevant. She also has been

having a lot of trouble lately with cholangitis attacks , these are

related to that bile duct in particular. They said she has a dominant

stricture in that duct.I can't imagine how hard it must be with your

son being so young. I will keep you in my prayers.
