A friend in Ft. Lauderdale received this from Lila Klausman who has worked for

years to get the 1000 ft rule abolished and laws and rules regarding residential

communities changed. She asked me to share it with the people here on s

List. The people who sent this to Lila claim to provide life in a supportive

community " without government or insurance money, including Medicaid "

Dear Families and Friends of PPP,

Please take a few minutes to read through the reports linked below -- from a

powerful advocate for Choice and Innovation. You will want to have this

important reference. Please also share.

Happy New Year to all.

Lila Klausman, Pres.

Parents Planning Programs (PPP), Inc.

To:

Dear Lila and Eugene Klausman,

I was referred to PPP by Tamie Hopp with VOR. I read " Your Story " on your

website and we have a lot to talk about and share. I am Chairperson of the

Community Living & Employment Subcommittee of the Nevada Commission on Autism

Spectrum Disorders; President & CEO of LTO Ventures, a 501©(3) nonprofit

company that develops live/work/play communities for adults with Autism; and,

father of a 16 year old daughter with Autism.

I originally wrote Tamie to notify VOR of a report – " Choice v. Olmstead " – I

have published that examines the Public Submissions accessible via

www.regulations.gov as provided by CMS in the Federal Register as the repository

of these comments. I believe the conclusion of my report parallels the

positions and comments of the VOR in its public comment. You may find common

ground with me as well. As you can read, I am a huge proponent of CHOICE.

The report can be accessed at:

A PDF version of the report can be downloaded from:

A press release about this report can be viewed at:

I also am writing you to let you know that my company, LTO Ventures, is

developing live/work/play communities for adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

We are different from almost all other planned residential communities in that

our model is designed to provide complete lives for our residents without

government or insurance money, including Medicaid. You can read our story on

our website – www.ltoventures.org.

I hope we have a chance to exchange ideas.

Sincerely,

Mark L. Olson
