Guest guest
- I had developed my 1st DVT. while pregnant with 3rd child. PE came in 87 and I as with everything had pulmonary and Dr. baffled as it came from nowhere, I did not fall under the norm. non of what u mentioned. I have always been very active, exercise which they also told me after PE to make sure and do arobic exercise to get and keep the heart rate up and circulatory going for periods of time. I also have always been active walker. I had all the tests done to see if I was prone to throw clots, vitaman k etc. none of these. So as all my illnesses have been just weird. It is not just the surgeries themselves, now that are risks for me which as soon as I am OLD enough have to have knee replacement, they also do not like me to go under anesthesia, as this also alone is a risk for people who have had clots. It is strange that my mom had phlebitis 1or 2 times when I was young and my dad had a clot after an accident, they thought sure the prone test might come back as positive, but I am not. So just another case of oddball for me. Take Care hope tooth is better or should I not even mention it Sharon wrote: Most DVTs and pulmonary embolisms develop in people who are inactive because of an injury or surgery. If you have had a DVT or pulmonary embolism, or you have a family history of blood-clotting problems, you can help to prevent blood clots by doing the following: Review your medical history with your doctor to see if you have any risk factors for blood clots that can be changed. Avoid all medications that may cause blood clots (especially birth control pills and other medications that contain estrogen). Drink a lot of water and walk around frequently when on long plane flights or car trips. Avoid prolonged periods of bed rest. Discuss your history of DVT and pulmonary embolism with your physician before considering any surgical procedures. When you have nothing left but God, you become aware that God is enough. -Guideposts
