Guest guest
I heard recently about a "butterfly" way of drawing blood, it is suppose to be more gentle. So if anyone if familiar please followup! Guest guest
Our Dan Doctor, Dr Berger, works with a nurse practitioner named who is great with kids on the spectrum and comes to the home to administer IV's, not sure about blood work though you should ask him. Dr Berger is in Tampa, Wholistic Pediatrics, but his nurse lives here in South Florida. I don't know if you would have to be seeing Dr. Berger to supervise before, not sure how it would work. Guest guest
I know a man named who is really good with kids on the spectrum who came to my home and did my son's IV chelation for some time. I do not know if his number is the same because it has been a while but here it is: . My son is extremely difficult to work with when it comes to needles, but is good! Guest guest
A butterfly is just a name of a different type of needle, it is smaller but has an attachment of a long tube that the blood flows into the tubes. The butterfly part is near the needle it is shaped like a butterfly. It takes longer and sometimes seeing the blood flow through the longer tube instead of a syringe may make people more squeamish, plus it can take a little longer. Guest guest
Whenever I have to go and get blood drawn they sometimes have a hard time finding a vein. Sometimes they avoid sticking me more than once and use the butterfly method. I think it is less intrusive.
