Hi,

I did the candida diet and took Nystatin and it helped me tremendously. The thing I would say is the most important thing is not to give up too soon. A few weeks may not be enough time. It took me 4 months to clean out my system and get rid of the constant burning. I have some meal and recipes ideas if you are interested.

Two things:You've lucked out having a doctor that actually accepts that yeast can be an systemic issue. So many don't.As a half-and-half substitute, you might want to try a good coconut milk. I use the NativeForest brand and love the stuff. It comes two ways -- Classic, which contains all the oil and,if you stir it up to homogenize it and put it in a container in the fridge, will end up the consistency of very heavy cream. . . it's delicious and addicting. Or Light, which has a much lower fat content and is akin to skim milk in consistency. For my own herbal version of coffee i add a dollop of either variety and enjoy.Hollis I am sure this has been discussed before because I remember reading a post about having this allergy. I was at and Noble today and purchased the book, The Yeast Connection. After reading it , it sure did sound like everthing I have been experiencing. I was at the doctor today and he was encouraged by my healing since my surgery. I told him I thought he would think imy surgical area would look good, but I didn't feel good. Explained my symptoms so off to the rx for several more prescriptions. I feel like a medicine cabinet!! Anyway he saw the with the book and asked me about it and I told him I felt like that is what was wrong. He said some doctors poo poo it but he supports it and he told me he would support me if I wanted to try the eating plan. He did write me a prescrition for nystatin. I have ordered the cookbook that goes along with the book but was wondering about anyone that has tried the candida diet. How did it work for you and what suggestions can you offer. I think I can do it but it may be a bit hard because I really love my coffee with half and half. thanks for your help

You are so right about me finding a doctor that supports the yeast theory. My.

Doctor was

in practice with Dr. who passed away recently. Dr. started the

C.

Pelvic Pain Center. Dr. Childs is a wonderful doctor and has really

helped me. I felt

sorry for him yesterday though, he had been in surgery all day and then had to

see about 3

patients after that. He didn't even get lunch yesterday!! I can't say enough

good things

about him.

well, there goes THAT idea!as you probably know, your headache is a normal caffeine withdrawal reaction. it willpass. if it's really intolerable, why don't you cut down and then go off completely over several days? that way you might avoid as severe a withdrawal crash.Hollisgood tip however, I don't like coconut at all.
