Guest guest
Thanks Debbie. I believe he was confused. LOL. I don't know. Thanks for looking into it for me girl. Hope you are doing well. Take care sweetie. love and hugs, Debra V. deebs87 wrote: Good for you for ignoring that PA's warning if he can't explain why better than that. I checked my drug book and there isn't any warning about taking Azithromycin with Xanax but there is one for Halcion. Just be careful and stop the antibiotic if you have problems. hugs, Debbie J > > I went to the doc the other day. He prescribed Azithromycin for my resp problem and told me " don't take your Xanax for the 5 days you are on this " . I was dumbfounded. I said " why " ... He said there would be a terrible interaction. I asked if this was something new that they had just discovered and he said " I don't know " . > > Well, for his info....(He is a P.A.- not my real doc)... I have given these drugs together for years. I have never seen anyone hurt by it or keel over and die. And I can find almost nothing on the internet about it. I believe I have taken it before while I was on Xanax. Ok... Azithromycin is similar to Erythromycin which is one of the oldest antibiotics. Also I want to know if he thinks that some nice Xanax withdrawals after 5 days cold turkey would be the best thing to do. Whatever. I have seen it prescribed many times to people on Xanax with no problem. I also presume he thinks I take Xanax just for the hell of it and don't need it. > > Needless to say I am taking the crap together. I am about to fill it because I guess I won't get over this crap without something. > > Just venting. And by the way, he does not know I am a R.N. either. He looked at me like " what would make you ask this " ?????? duh. Alright, if I keel over you will all know it is because I did not listen to him. > > love and hugs, > Debra V. > > > --------------------------------- > Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo!
