Guest guest
Hi ; If you are talking about the " transfer factor " sold by " 4Life " , then be cautious. If read that this may a SCAM. The FDA has issued a letter of warning to 4Life for making claims that are unsubstantiated. http://www.fda.gov/cder/warn/cyber/2004/CL108e.pdf Best regards, Dave R. > > Does anyone have an knowledge about Transfer factor? > supposedly it boost immune system? Guest guest
Hi ; Please see this medical blog from Malaysia about transfer factor: http://medicine.com.my/wp/?p=836 A relevant quote from the above article: " I am not aware of any studies of transfer factor being obtained from cow colostrum and [transferring] immune reactivity to humans, " says Dr. Zweiman. " Nor could I find any reference to it in a Medline search of the medical literature. " I would not recommend giving this to your son without asking your son's hepatologist first, and I suspect he/she would caution you against it. Guest guest
Thanks so much. I am so impressed how you have literature on everything! FYI had a great laugh- alex is my husband not my SON- although it can totally feel sometimes like I am taking care of one of my children!!! -rachel > > do you know of any real research being done with transferfactor- i > believe it comes from cholostrum being truly beneficial for > disease ? >
Guest guest
Oops, sorry ! I am always thinking about caregivers with children with PSC, and I often forget that caregivers look after spouses with PSC too ... and thank goodness that they do! My apologies to ! Best wishes, Dave R. > alex is my husband not my SON
