Guest guest
Hello, My husband has had 2 external biliary tubes to the skin and permant ones in the common bile duct. He still experiences a itchy back.Does anyone have some helpful hints. He has PSC since 2005 , they thought he had a Klatskin tumor and he took chemo and no more cancer since and maybe had PSC for a long time. He is working 4 eight hour days and is very tired at the end of the day and sleeps all weekend. He is on a liver transplant list now. We go to the liver doctor March 4 who is so helpful and have so many other questions for him.
Guest guest
Assuming he has exhausted all the known meds for itching, such as Questran, hydroxyzine(atarax), Naltrexone, Benadryl, Zofran, Zoloft, Rifampin, Allegra...etc. Has he tried light therapy? I have found that Masada Skin soothing lotion helps. It is pricey and costs 20.00 for 8 oz tube, but it does calm my skin especially after a bath. Cold or very cook baths, loose fitting clothing. I also take Ambien CR at night, so that if I itch all day, at LEAST I get my rest at night.
