Guest guest
Celeste - that is one thing that is first and foremost in my mind when it comes to anti-depressants - I have it engrained in my brain to never, ever stop cold turkey. I've heard so many horror stories, including yours about doing that. That's probably why I was so spastic when I found out I couldn't get anymore Effexor - but prayers were answered. So yes, you give some very good advice. Teri (central Wisconsin) Re: Re: melt down - battling insurance co. for anti-depressants/Jeanne Hello All, I was on Cymbalta. If at all possible try to get some extra. I had to go off from it cold turkey, as my insurance co changed...and they wouldn't pay for the prescription. It was horrible. My Dr. did everything in his power, and they gave him such a hard time. They put my on the Lyrica for Fibromyalgia, because that is the one that is approved for fibro. But boy have I felt horrible. Kept me down for a week. I finally had to call the Dr. and tell him I would have to check myself into the hospital if he couldn't do something. I just couldn't stand it anymore. I was vomitting, dizzy, shaky, and felt my brain was be electricuted everytime I moved! It was horrible....so just be careful with Cymbalta. Really good stuff, but if you have to switch to stop taking it really taper yourself Celeste
Guest guest
I have been dealing with antidepressants for about 10 years. I cannot take them, I seem to have alergic reactions to several that I have tried. But my DH (darling husband) has been on them for years. If you try to change too quickly it can be horrible. But the worst part is the insurance. I have fought the VA for years, and now I am fighting a private insurance company. It seems that they can change the rules without letting us know in advance. I think they are running out of $$ and the only way they can deal with it is to deny benifits. They have loopholes, we don't. It is not fair. Right now, I am facing upwards of 6000 dollars because my insurance company changed policy with out notification, at least any sort of notification that a normal person would be able to detect. My entire company is up in arms about it. Maybe we can fix our problem. maybe not. Insurance companies have so much power, but it is power to hurt I fear. Luck and prayers to you with your insurance issues dear sister Connie in Alaska
