ThanksLathaLatha KrishnaiyerChairKids Voting Browardkrish6@...Please forward to all teachers! Online voting for the Presidential Preference Primary will start on Monday, January 30th and will remain open until January 31st. Students will log onto Virtual Counselor to cast their vote. Students will need their 10 digit student number and their birthdate (mm/dd/yyyy - must include the backslashes). See attachment for directions. Voting for the Presidential candidate should be optional for students since Florida is a closed primary state. In the state of Florida, only voters who are registered members of political parties may vote for respective party candidates. This year's primary is a Republican Presidential Preference Primary, therefore only Republicans will be voting in the Presidential Preference Primary. Consequently, please do not require students to vote for the Republican Presidential candidate unless they choose to. However, there are other political seats that students may vote for such as the Ft. Lauderdale Mayor and several City Commission seats. On the Kids Voting Ballot, students will select one of the Republican Presidential Candidates, the Mayor of Ft. Lauderdale, and Commission Seats for the following cities: Parkland, Lauderdale by the Sea, Pembroke Pines, Lighthouse Point, Ft. Lauderdale. The candidates can be found at www.browardsoe.org (Broward County Supervisor of Elections web site). Happy Voting! 2 of 2 File(s) Attach0._html OnLine Voting Instructions.pdf
