Guest guest
dont always have to stay still/flat for 8 hours, depends on if the " sutures " (there is another name they use for it,don't remember), I only had to stay flat for about 2 hours, just had to be awake and stable enough!! jodi rosesbyangel@... wrote: Hey Sweetie, I just wanted to give you a little support. I know how scary this procedure is. I had it done early last year. Once the had given me some meds to calm me it was really kinda cool. Believe it or not I got to watch the cath go through my heart. It was just amazing to see my heart beat as they worked on me. I ended up having two blockages that were 40% so they didn't do anything. If they had been 70% they would have put in a stint while I was on the table but it would not require any new incisions. They could have done it through the same opening they used for the cath. NOW... my biggest problem with the whole thing was the 8 hours flat on my back afterwards. I don't know if they have told you that part or not but for the 8 hours you are in recovery you can not move. If I had known up front I would have asked for my pain meds prior to surgery so I could have been ready for the 8 hours. If you have any questions please feel free to holler! I'm an expert on this as my brother has had triple bypass and then 20 years later they had to go in and clear the original blockages because the bypass clogged. I've been with him many many times when he had caths. Soft hugs, Angelia mom to , wife to Kerry **************Start the year off right.
