Hi

I hope that you have the means to visit Dr. Udell or someone reputable like him to discuss Neuroprotek. As far as it not being approved by the FDA I would not give it a second thought. It is all bureucracy and politics. As a 14 yr old, I was bleeding myself into a grave and no FDA approved medication cured me. Since I lived in Puerto Rico at the time, my doctor recommended to my parents that we try a medication that had not been approved by the FDA but been used effectively and safely in Europe for years. My father who was a physician agreed because he had a perfect understanding of how these things work. I would not be alive if he had not known any better. The drug was approved in the USA 5 years later, but guess what, I would have been DEAD by then.

My son's doctor has also given him a medication that has not been approved for treating a sleeping disorder but for high blood pressure. Guess what, it has worked wonderfully and not given him any bad side effects. It is a very mild medication. The FDA does approve however the use of Respidol for sleeping disorders and aggression in children. Don't let the fact that something is approved by the FDA give you a false sense of security. I currently have 5 clients under the age of 8 who have developed DIABETES from taking this FDA approved drug. And yes, for some parents it is the only option. So I don't critize them by any means. However I wish people would not look at options that have not been approved by the FDA yet as "snake oil" when so many are helpful and much safer than the FDA counterparts.

If I recommend it is only because I personally have experienced it to work and because as I said in my post, my son's doctor gave it to him. I didn't just go and buy it at the corner bodega, lol.

Best wishes to all parents out there trying to do the best for their kids, Ida
