FAAST Is Moving To New OfficesCross-town move will position the State Tech Act Program in city's

Human Services epicenter

The Florida Alliance for Assistive Services and Technology (FAAST) will open its doors next month in a brand new location minutes from the Leon County Schools District Office, Tallahassee Community College and Florida State and Florida A M Universities.

The statewide non-profit organization will relocate to 3333 W Pensacola Street, Tallahassee, FL32304-2800, the Leon County Human Service Center. The site houses community service organizations such as DISC Village, Inc., Disc-Woodville Alternative Learning Center, Community Health Charities of Florida and the Character and Heritage Institute.

FAAST's new space will contain its administrative offices and feature an expanded Northwest Florida Regional Demonstration Center. The 2,760 square foot facility will allow visitors more access to wide varieties of assistive technology like speech communication devices, hearing and vision aids, mobility equipment, adapted toys and technology for learning. Additionally, it will serve as the central distribution site for FAAST's Statewide Device Loan Program, a free service which provides short term loans of assistive technology devices to Floridians with disabilities of all ages. The Statewide Device Loan Program ships assistive technology throughout the state, at no cost to borrowers.

Easy access to public transportation including night and Sunday bus routes, more accessible parking and larger accessible restrooms are just a few benefits that visitors will enjoy, making a trip to the FAAST Northwest Regional Demonstration center a convenient one.

The center will be open for tours and demonstrations Monday - Friday.
