Guest guest
I am (patiently) waiting for a hearing. My LTD provider had me file initially, I was denied (no dx of COPD or fibro at that time though, plus have added a few more chronic issues). The LTD provider has an attorney on retainer, they filed the reconsideration - again denied, but I still hadn't had the COPD or fibro dx (got those the next day and week....lolol). Now they have applied for a hearing - anywhere from 12-15 months; don't believe I'll have a problem now because my med records (from 2 docs so far, yes I got my own so I could work on a payment protection plan I have thru my credit union) and they clearly state - COPD, fibro, asthma, diabetes, metabolic disorder, yada yada yada. So, I do believe when it comes hearing time, we are going to have no problems. It's just the waiting..... The good news on that is my LTD provider " makes up " the difference that SSD won't pay, so I won't " lose " any money - up until I'm 65; plus I'll have insurance until then, when Medicaid kicks in. Then I'll get my disability $ plus my retirement $. I never thought at 45 I would be disabled. I truly didn't. I saw myself as one of those folks who would work until they carried me out in a pine box or forced me to retire! Oh well, I guess there are other plans for me!
