Caregiver Support Group

Hi Everyone,

JAFCO and the Posnack Jewish Community Center are working in collaboration to provide a weekly support group, for caregivers raising children who have developmental disabilities. This group provides an opportunity to share common feelings, experiences and learn about resources in our community. The group provides support as well as addresses’ topics that are meaningful today and for planning the future. The group meets weekly, Thursday mornings

9:45 am to 11:15am and on the 3rd week of each month, on Tuesday evening 6:15pm to 7:30pm. On the week that the evening group meets, we do not meet that week for a morning group. The group meets in the Posnack JCC Administrative Building unless otherwise noted. When entering from Pine Island, bear right and see the flag pole. The group has been meeting regularly on Thursday mornings. The following dates are listed for convenience. 11/4, 11/11, 12/2, 12/9, 12/23, 12/30. The dates for the Tuesday evening group are: 11/16, and 12/14. On 11/11, 12/23, 12/30 (Thursday mornings) and some additional days after January 1st we will be meeting at JAFCO (see address below) as a room is not available at the JCC. Please note that starting in January 2011, the morning group will be held on Mondays instead of Thursdays. The following are a list of dates: 1/3, 1/10, 1/24 at JAFCO, 1/31, 2/7, 2/21 at JAFCO, 2/28, 3/21, 3/28, 4/4 at JAFCO, 5/2, 5/9, 5/23.
