Guest guest
I received this today and was quite disturbed by it. Please advise of any thoughts on who could assist with this issue. It sounds to me like the manager needs some education in hiring people with disabilities and also discrimination. Lastly, I was even more surprised about it being at a Publix. They have been quite supportive of employing persons with disabilities. Maybe someone has a contact at Publix corporate that we can get to about it. News media may jump on this one. I would think Publix would be very concerned about being on the news with this type of story. Ven, A friend of one of our clients was recently terminated from his employment with Publix. The rumor is that a new district manager on the East Coast is removing DD consumers from his stores. He had the young man sign some type of release (he doesn’t read) and then fired him. Any ideas who might help them? Regards, Ven Sequenzia President Autism Society of America State of Florida Chapter

Guest guest
Ven:There is/was a Senior VP at Publix Headquarters by the name of Jim Lobinsky. He had a grandchild, I believe, with autism. It was several years ago, when I spoke to him about getting GF/CF products in Publix. I'm not sure if he is still there, but it's worth a shot to call. His number was . Hope that helps.RMSubject: IMPORTANT!! Possible help for DD adult near Vero BeachTo: VSequenzia@...Date: Monday, November 8, 2010, 12:22 PM I received this today and was quite disturbed by it. Guest guest
I think you have to start with the name of the person dismissed. Otherwise, you can't do anything. You need to find out if he wants legal counsel. From: sList [mailto:sList ] On Behalf Of cheryl Sent: Monday, November 08, 2010 1:17 PM To: sList Subject: Re: IMPORTANT!! Guest guest
I e-mailed a response to Ven, but wanted RM to know that Publix now carries sever GF/CF products. Everything from corn and rice pasta to cake mixes. A lot of the items are on the health/alternative foods aisle. I am most familiar with the store on Military Tr. in Deerfield, but have seen the items at other stores in the area. Glenda > > > Subject: IMPORTANT!! Hopefully, this gentleman is still there and can help.RMSubject: Re: IMPORTANT!! Guest guest
you also need to find out if he has a legal guardian or not. If so things need to go through that person. Hope they get all the facts before accusing anyone of anything. Subject: RE: IMPORTANT!!
