In fact it affects joint pain so much for me, that for the last several years I've taken a round of prednisone JUST so that I could get through CT scans. I have spinal stenosis and fibromyalgia, and the pain would be extreme during the CT and for a week or two afterwards; the prednisone does the trick every time for me. The one really nice thing about being on prednisone for 5 years was that bone and joint pain was almost totally gone. It might be, too, that 's taper was going just a wee bit too fast. The longer you've been on prednisone, the more gradual the taper has to be in order to keep your body happy. Guest guest Posted October 16, 2007 Report Share Posted October 16, 2007 Thanks for the reassurance, maybe his local GI whom he sees today will be able to readjust his taper. I told him he was just getting old and the Prednisone has been hiding that fact for a while. He took Prednisone prior to his J pouch surgery for years due to the UC.
