I'm at CCF and I thought I would let the group know I finally got the PSC brochures distributed. Here's part of the entry from my caring bridge site. I hope everyone gets a chance to share the brochures and the details regarding the upcoming conference. I have enjoyed them immensely and we need to keep growing so the Partners pocketbook keeps growing - it's the only way to find a cure!

Caringbridge:

'I did get one other thing accomplished today and that is...I took pamphlets on PSC, that PSC Partners Seeking a Cure created, to the liver transplant office as well as the information regarding our 2008 conference. I'm excited to think that the brochures will be shared with other PSC patients as this disease is scary and can create an isolated feeling. The fact that often PSC patients do not follow the "rules" of end stage liver disease often leaves the medical staff stumped and the patients feeling like others think we are crazy. We are not crazy (well, in this respect!) we simply possess a rare disease that has little understanding by doctors and even less "norms". Which, of course, is why PSC Partners is so important to PSC Patients and caretakers. Without an understanding of this disease there will never be a cure. Too many lives are at stake for our disease to remain on the National Organization for Rare Diseases (NORD) without research and a cure. Thank God for PSC Partners and everyone who donates time to it's cause; this allows all monies to go directly to research and we will find a cure; I have that kind of faith!

Well, enough of my soapbox it's just hard not to preach on this subject. I have amazing friends that I'd like to keep around for many, many years to come!'

Hope everyone is enjoying the new year, thus far.
