Guest guest Posted October 17, 2007 Report Share Posted October 17, 2007 Dear ; I don't know exactly what " atypical cells " were seen, but you should certainly request the full cytological report(s) in writing, and an explanation of the report(s) directly from your hepatologist. If the cytology report(s) suggest dysplasia (and I truly hope that they do not) then I would urge you to make an appointment to see Dr. Greg Gores at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He's probably the leading world expert on detecting cholangiocarcinoma early, and treating it successfully, if found early. Please keep us posted, and feel free to ask questions about the cytology reports if you need assistance in trying to interpret them. Regrettably, I don't think anyone could properly interpret what is meant by " atypical cells " at the moment.
