Guest guest
Hi all, I had surgery yesterday to resect the common bile duct. There are lots of details on www.MyGaranzuay.com/BlogZuay In brief, they performed the resection on the duct; above and below the mass showed no evidence of malignancy. The labs from pathology will be back Monday on the mass for a definitive answer on malignancy. Also, the liver biopsy will be back Monday as well. I spent a day and a half in ICU and am in general recovery now. It hurts, but they are managing the pain well. Also, they found many structures throughout the smaller ducts. The liver surgeon says it looks bad and that cirrhosis (and the transplant) is inevitable. We don't know the progression rate yet, but the liver enzyme tests look positive for the moment. We hope we can put that off for some time. However, we take it as it comes and will meet the challenges head on. I hope you all enjoyed Christmas/Hannakah/Kwanza/Ramadan! Jen and I welcomed Garanzuay to the world on 12/13/2007. We're not sleeping very much, but are loving every minute of it! I am on heavy doses of morphine right now. I hope this post makes sense!
