Guest guest
I would second 's motion about checking your local massage therapy schools. Each therapist has to do so many practical hours and quite frankly, what better patient to work on than one who is in constant pain due to fibromyalgia? It would definitely help them understand the whole anatomy concept, you know? Also, I know that locally, we have a certified neuromuscular massage therapist who lists fibro as one of the things she works on. I have used her in the past (before being dx'd) and she was very good. I believe I need to call her and make an appointment " asap " to get some of the knots worked out. That might help the meds work a little bit better; they cannot get thru clogged areas now, can they? Anyhow, if massage is beyond your budget and I can certainly understand that because so many of us are dealing with disability issues and fighting for SSD, etc. etc., not to mention the cost of our meds (I think I'm around $200-300 a month with a drug plan!), consider checking for a certified reflexologist and ionic cleanse person. The ionic cleanse pulls out all sorts of impurities including meds, heavy metals, inflammation, old toxins that have built up in your cells. The reflexology on your feet opens up blocked areas. You definitely have to drink lots and lots of water to help in the detox process and the very first time I had it done, I felt queasy, but since then, I have felt better and better each time! Just some more thoughts for us to try and live as pain-free a life as possible. A cheap way out would be to get a foot soak, use epsom salts and then see if your partner, DH, SO, whoever you can find to then rub your feet with a soothing lotion. It can't hurt and it might help. ((((Hugs to all for a pain-free Wednesday!)))) Darlene > > > > I think massage and such would be of such benefit. I just can't > afford it.
