Hello! I dont live in brevard but in walton county in panhandle! I am a mental health casemanager who observes the police here as "baker act happy!" My son will be 20 soon and can have explosions that calm down quickly but are scary because he is so loud and will attack others. I know the sheriff here have no training! I am working on my masters in criminal justice and hope somehow to educate the cops and the CJS on autism! I believe that much more can be done to educate public safety personnel in Broward County about autism spectrum disorder. I am currently attempting to collect data about individuals with ASD in Broward County who have either been arrested or taken in to custody under the Baker Act.
