Guest guest
My name is Dodie (yes, really!) and I was diagnosed with fibro last year, depression 13 years ago. I'm 35. I am a mother of 2, stepmonster of 2 (they live with us full time), have three dogs, three cats, and a husband that travels part of the time for work. I work about 35 hours a week, plus try to take care of the house. My husband doesn't believe I am sick, because I don't " look " sick. He had made the " lazy " comments, the " there's nothing wrong with you " comments, and doesn't want to believe there's anything wrong. I could go into the slew of problems that I have, but all of you have a good idea of what I go through all ready. I'm hoping to find a place to come and share insights, complain, laugh, cry, and make friends who understand me a little more than others. Thanks for adding me to the group. Guest guest
Yep, this is the place for understanding and support, Dodie. Lots of husbands are like yours. I am blessed with one of the good ones. I'm off to bed as it's a bad day for me. TTYL Jeanne in WI My name is Dodie (yes, really!) and I was diagnosed with fibro last year, depression 13 years ago. Guest guest
Hi Dodie, Welcome. I know what you mean about not looking sick.. Sometimes I get frustrated and feel like " how is that no-one notices anything different about me when I feel like i've been ran over " . If they only knew.. It sounds as if you lead an avtive life s I doubt that your " lazy'. TTYL, A.Ja My name is Dodie (yes, really!) and I was diagnosed with fibro last year, depression 13 years ago. I'm 35. Guest guest
Hi Dodie! Can I kick him in the shins??? Just joking. My sister doesn't think I'm sick either. I got the " you don't look sick " comment from her yesterday when I told her. I responded " you don't look diabetic " that made her stop and think. I too am 35 (and in denial, um...where did the 20's go???) anyway, have battled depression for years and was just diagnosed with fibro (last Friday). You have your hands full!!! Remember to take time out for yourself. All I know is that I think you came to the right place. Aimee My husband > doesn't believe I am sick, because I don't " look " sick. Guest guest
Hi Aimee! I had to laugh at your comment " Where did the 20's go, I am wondering where the 30's and 40's went!!!! I just turned 50 and I barely remember being 40! I was wondering when the kids were coming home, and they have been grown and gone for over 10 years now! I have grandkids now, and my head is just spinning over that one! Hey, can I use the one about " you don't look diabetic or other??? " I love it! Thanks and hugs, Connie > " you don't look sick " comment from her yesterday when I told her. I responded " you don't look diabetic " that made her stop and think. Guest guest
Hi Connie! Time just flies by... guess we've had some fun in our lives, eh? I know I have! Sure! Please feel free to use the comment " you don't look diabetic or other " . Some cancer patients look fine (like my step-mom, she's under going Kemo, liver cancer, and looks great, no hair loss, just tired all the time)... Depression another disease that isn't always evident. There's so many diseases that aren't evident to the naked eye, yet those exist. That's what made my sister stop and think. It's the inside that isn't working right. Hugs to you! Aimee
