Guest guest
Does anyone else have recurrent Oral thrush? I have Asthma and Ithink the meds make me more prone to get it but I have it almostchronically now. As soon as I get rid of it and get off the meds Iget it again. I'm wondering if my immune system is compromised due toPSC. I too have oral thrush mostly every few months. I used to get it almost continually until Dr Chapman prescribed fluconazole. That's an antifungal capsule sold in the chemists for vaginal thrush but apparently it can be used for fungal infections anywhere. You just have to take one capsule and after about 48 hrs it starts to clear the infection. Before I was given nystatin lozenges to suck 4 times a day but that hardly cleared the infection at all and, like you it just kept coming back. Now I keep a pack in the cupboard and as soon as the thrush starts I take the capsule, brilliant! I've always blamed the fact that I have diabetes but I get asthma now as 2will so its all a mystery. Hope that helps, all the best, Barbara (UK)
Guest guest
I work with breastfeeding moms, so we often run into cases of thrush. It's a real pain to get rid of but there are some " natural " remedies that can help. I would just google " natural thrush remedies " and see what comes up. We have moms be pretty dilligent about cleaning or sterlizing anything that comes into contact with the affected areas, cut down on sugar intake (that just 'feeds' the thrush), and increase Vit C.....this information is from " The Breastfeeding Answer Book " published by La Leche League. Plus it just makes sense to add good bacteria (like acidophilus) back into the body to combat the bad. > > Does anyone else have recurrent Oral thrush?
