Guest guest
I need some help. My 10 year old, 5th grade Aspergers, OCD, ADHD daughter has been struggling with her OCD to the point where she was afraid to leave the house. So, luckily, she is now in a residential treatment program where she can get intensive therapy for several hours a day, seven days a week. I could not provide this type of intensive therapy unless she were in the residential setting. Unfortunately, the program is in a hospital that is out of state . Average stay ranges from 30 to 45 days but I have no real idea how long she will be there or how long the insurance company will pay for the treatment. When talking to the hospital, they told me there were teachers on staff to help with the school work and that the children would work on items from the home school. When I talked to my daughter's school, they said I would have to disenroll her in Florida and enroll her in the other state (Wisconsin). However, the hospital says they do not do that and most students come to them on the hospital/home bound program. She is now caught in the middle. Does anyone have any information to help with this? I am completely at a loss on how to handle this. Thank you so much! -- Have a lovely day! Jean
