We hear from many Heart of Sailing families that they feel there are few public activities that their special needs family can do together – as a family. That must be especially disappointing during the holidays. In that spirit, Heart of Sailing (www.heartofsailing.org) would like to invite your special needs families to create a new after Thanksgiving tradition and go sailing!

The After Thanksgiving Sail is a1-hour, private family sail which is being offered so that they can create new holiday memories with their loved ones – including those who may be visiting or otherwise helping them celebrate the holiday.

If you are unfamiliar with us - Heart of Sailing is a not-for-profit foundation that provides the therapeutic and recreational sailing experience to special needs children and adults along with their families - for free. The focus is primarily on the cognitively challenged community (such as autism and Down Syndrome with 80% autistic guests). Heart of Sailing is celebrating their 5th year (with a 100% safety record) and currently has chapters in 60 locations throughout the US, Canada, Puerto Rico and France. Last year alone Heart of Sailing took over 4,000 cognitively challenged guests sailing.

Thanks to our generous volunteer captains, we are offering The After Thanksgiving Sail program in the following locations:

Alameda: Friday Nov. 26

Dana Point: Friday, Nov. 26, Saturday, Nov. 27 and Sunday, Nov. 28

San Diego: Saturday, Nov. 27
