My husband Jim and I are seeing our internist this Thursday and

are planning to get our annual flu shot plus asking the doctor what he

thinks about the shingles shot. Does anybody have any views on whether or not

we should be getting these shots?

Good grief, another

night owl…… can’t sleep either huh?

Flu – yes! Shingles – I would do

anything I could to avoid Shingles, but you should probably ask your doc about

this one.

Speaking of flu shots... I had mine yesterday and the guy who gave it to

me commented that I may want to ask my doctor about getting a second one

since I'm immune suppressed. Anyone else heard of this?

Here's my experience for all it's worth. I always get my flu shot, but this year my internist suggested I get a shingles vaccine as well. When I asked my hepatologist, he suggested I not get the shingles shot, as it contains a live virus.
