Guest guest
There are pain CLINICS and pain CENTERS, the later sounds like what you are going to, they do rehab TX's PT " s OT'S massage, biofeedback and these kind of TX verses med's. I belive whomever is asking what she would find at a pain clinic, would be as I earlier discrbed, and again will say they deal with Narcotic med TX. It sounds like this is what the member's Ortho is wanting to send her to, since he has been prescribing her a narcotic, for pain but no longer can, which would usually be the practice, dentist, ortho's specialty Dr's have to be carefull how long and how many narcotic drugs they give out, as they are not ment to presrcibe for long long period's of time, or they could be questioned, and get themselves into trouble. If the member is saying she is wondering what a Pain Management Center would do then you have described it, and this I am certain would be unaffordable to someone with no insurance who has to pay up front, of at least in my State it is, as I also attended one of these, and depending what they find, etc,, you can be expected to give up to 4 days a week all day to spend there doing different TX agressivally if your problem is as severe as mine was and continues, now they want me to go to a PAIN CLINIC, which would be to put me on a strong narcotic, that can be monitered well, as the hydrocodone has started to stop working. Hope this clears up the ?? the member without insurance needed, before hand, and guess you may want to clear up with your ortho which he/ she is wanting you to go to. Sharon The pain clinic I go to does NOT prescribe drugs, rather they help you figure out ways of lessenging the pain through relaxation, massage, exercise or injections like I had the other day. They also do other things, but so far this is what I've actually seen there. I was told up front they do not prescribe meds, though. --------------------------------- Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Yahoo! Search.
