Guest guest
We have some funding available for my son to get home-based behavior therapy services through APD (don't quote me on the source of the funds - its all beginning to run together anymore) HOWEVER, getting someone who speaks English well who will see my son has become impossible. The medwaiver support coordinator has tried a couple of agencies they use, but we are coming up with nothing. We only had one person actually show up (late - but at least he got there) but he only interviewed me and didn't even speak to my son. Then he calls and says he wants to see my son at the school. Well, it was June, and school had just let out for the summer. So this peckerwood disappeared because my son wasn't in school. The whole summer this fellow just fell off the map. This is not the kind of person who can help my son. I would think that a behavioral therapist would actually, at a minimum, KNOW HOW TO BEHAVE. This is the kind of quality issue I have to deal with all the time here in Central Miami-Dade. If anyone knows a behavioral therapist that can see someone in the downtown Miami area, we would appreciate any referrals.
