Dialodid is FABULOUS!!! I get super bad migraines to where even

percoset and vicodin are worthless. When I go to the ER they give me

this in an IV and it completely alleviates the pain. Its sort of wierd

the first time you use it though because at least for me it acts

totally different than any other pain med. They it in the iv or you

can take a pill - but either way you are laying there and its like a

gentle foggy cloud sort of starts at the top of your head and moves

down your whole body and until everything sort of has no sensation. I

was scared the first time because it was such a complete sense of

weightlessness.

The normal dosage in the ER is 2 bullosks (I may have that spelled

wrong but essentially two ampules). For me that was too much because I

literally couldn't walk out of the ER under my own steam. The second

time I told them to cut it in half and it was perfect - enough to

eliminate the pain and let me get some sleep without making be drool.

I'm curious to hear what your doc says about substituting it for vic or

perco.

Dilaudid is one of the oldest opiod medications out

there. And very powerfull. I was given it after my

hysterectomy and my blood pressure dropped to 60/40

and i thought " oh oh this is it " Yep the pain was gone

but i was heading out to the tunnel.

I was then given it 10 years later for my shoulder

recontruction and the same thing only quicker.

No more dilaudid juice for me.

It can be great for those who can take it though.
