My parents went to a few meetings too and I talked it over a lot with

my pre-teen kids. They were all a bit scared for me of course but

they seemed to appreciate being included and all the information we

shared. I probably still take them for granted too much with their

support and interest. It's only when I read some of the hardships

others here experience that I realize how special my support has been

from my family with their time, loyalty and love for me. Be sure to

thank them Lorraine!

hello

I have not written in for awhile though I have been reading the posts. I

just thought I would take a moment and let you all know I am still here and

doing ok. The FM seems to be a little quieter than it had been for awhile.

I am on 20 mgs of Kadian...which has been wonderful. My pain level has

definitely dropped. However, my fatigue and brain fog are still

there....guess there is really nothing that can be done for that though.

Can't have it all. I do have a neighbor though that thinks I should cook,

clean, and do the laundry even if I can't move an inch! Course, she was

raised in the era where women did that kind of thing no matter what. She is

65.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and hope you all have a pain-free day.

Tabi D

<:))))><

Dear Tabi,

Have you ever tried Gingo Biloba for the memory /brain fog,and COQ10 for

energy? You just have to be careful with gingo because it has a blood thinning

property and you can't take it if taking other blood thinners such

aspirin/coumadin/or large doses Ibuprophen.

Hope this helps! Jodi M.

Welcome to our group! I'm so sorry you have reason to be here but since you do, I'm happy you found us. I was 46 when I was diagnosed with non-specific interstitial pneumonitis a form of pulmonary fibrosis. I understand completely how overwhelmed you are. Please know that anything you are feeling is normal and ok.

You've likely got lots ahead of you in terms of doctors and testing etc. Take it all one day at a time and ask lots of questions. Write everything down, make lists of questions for your doctors. Keep your own copies of all your medical records. Trust me on that one you will find that invaluable down the road.

Most importantly make sure you take good care of yourself through all this, eat well, get tons of rest and have someone you can turn to for support.

Read some of the older posts, this group has been around for about 3 years now so there's lots to read and learn. If you haven't already take a look at the website of the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org There's lots of great information there.

In short, welcome. You are among friends, we all understand and will do anything we can to help!

Hello! Your with a great group for info thats for sure! Everyone is different, yet bonded by this terrible disease. By now its probably overwhelming as it was for most of us in the beginning. My advise goes along with what has already been said. Just remember to "keep the faith and stay the course!" MO IPF 06-08 awaiting the call.

Hi, all...I don't get a chance to write very often, but I do try to keep up with your posts!

The latest news from us here in Houston is that

1) our PF support group and the PF Association of Texas is going to participate in the Wreaths Across America program at our local Veterans Cemetary on the 13th of Dec. hoping to assist another non-profit and garner some awareness for PF also!

2) My husband and I leave for Dallas, one week from today, to have my first transplant evaluation visit...this is exciting and scarey at the same time!

I hope you all have a great week!
