Guest guest
Hi Norma- I am so sorry to hear you lost your daughter following weight surgery, that is so terrible. I also am sorry you have been diagnoised with this crazy, maddening, never know what is going to happen disease! I to had shoulder surgery, actually both, 1 yr apart. Thought you might like to know, that my Rhuemie told and warned me that surgeries need to be avoided unless must have which by reading your post, and in my case had to be done. But she told me that like cancer hitting the open air, and spreading , Fibro will attack and most likely quite hard once the body goes through a surgery, it will creep up in any area and all areas it can. Well I can only say now, my shoulders were great once fixed, but now a yr after these, I have been a mess on almost every inch of my body, and my rt shoulder is having symptoms of failing again! I hope you will get your answer, most likely from the Rhemie, as they know best. Hope you lighter days and Take Care Sharon pmiller864@... wrote: Hello, I am Norma from Ohio. I am 57 years old. I have been married to the same man for 38 years. I had 3 children. Our oldest daughter was taken from us a year ago in November. She was 36 years old. She had weight loss surgery and 4 months to the day she was dead. A long painful and needless 4 months. this has probably been the longest year of my life. I have a doctor who is 35 and a son who is 33 and spent over a year in Iraq. I was diagnosed with fibro about 10 years ago. I had gone to several doctors to find out why I felt the way I did. My family doctor thought all along I had fibro but wanted to make sure. I went to Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio and saw a arthritis specialist there. Who confirmed that I did have fibro. Since then I have had many things come up where fibro was always the factor. then the 15th of February I had a complete shoulder surgery. Replacing the ball at the end of the bone and the shoulder socket as well. I had surgery and wow no pain. thought I died and went to heaven not to have pain in the shoulder. then the next week I went to the doctor and he pulled on my arm and pushed down at the same time and he hurt me. I have been in terrible pain ever since. well with an X-ray they found that the bone had dropped way down and the ball was not in the socket like it should be. He told me that the deltoid muscle which is the large muscle the runs across the shoulder and down the arm was not working. So it could not hold the bone up in place. I got to thinking the other day. Could fibro have anything to do with that? Interesting thought. I hope that I will learn many things here and that perhaps I might share what works for me. I have not been able to take any medication for my fibro because, 1.) I had stomach ulcers so anything that might upset my stomach is a no no and 2.) I am allergic to anything that is related to aspirin. Aspirin make me go into asthma attacks. So nothing that is out now or has been out has been ok for me to take. I have always been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea which does not help the fibro at all. thanks for letting me join your group. Norma/Ohio **************It's Tax Time!
