Guest guest
<http://geo.yahoo.com/serv?s=97359714/grpId=10519220/grpspId=1705061682/ msgId=87588/stime=1204998159/nc1=5191951/nc2=5191945/nc3=5191955> Good afternoon new friends, My name is Rise " ( pronounced Reesa) and I live about 50 miles south of Atlanta, Ga. My Dr has just diagnosed me with this disease so all of htis is very new to me. I went so see him before Christmas with pain in my body, constant aching and total exhaustion. My mind stayed foggy too. At first he wanted to dismiss everything saying It was middle age and that fact that I have 11 adopted children. But I can not believe that and I told him so, After doing a more in depth exam and listening to me he said that he believes I am suffering from Fibro and so here I am. i think that thing that I hate the most is that m body, which is supposed to be my support, has turned on me and feels like an enemy. It is very difficult to wrap my brain around all of this and I am looking forward to just getting to know others that have been where I am and can help me in dealing with all of this. Along with Fibro, I have arthritis, a degenerative bone disorder in the lower part of back, RLS< migraines, asthma, and sometimes I feel like i take more pills than I eat food. One thing I am wondering is does Fibromyalgia contribute to a stomach disorder? I have had problems with my stomach for almost a year now, and they DR's can not figure out what is going on, Ihave lost nearly 100 lbs in the less than a year and still have problems eating and not throw it back up. At first they wanted to suggest that I was anorexic but finally was able to get the dr's to realize that I do not do it on purpose it just happens. I have been over weight all of my life, and I learned to be happy as I am, so this is jsut not me, after so many tests we are still at a place where they can not fig u re this out. Last night was a very bad for me so today is naturally a bad day. I hate it when the legs hurt so bad that I have to sit in a hot bath to get any relief and then even after that walk the house to ease the pain. The inability to sleep can kill my entire day sometimes. BUT I guess that as I learn more about this I will be able to figure out ways of helping myself, I am looking forward to meeting every one and learning how you deal with all of this. God bless and hugs, Rise "
Guest guest
I've been taking 4 Advil at a time just to get some relief from the shoulder. It helps the shoulder, but not the stomach. Guest guest
Unfortunately, that is the curse of these diseases. Some of the treatments are really bad. As I've reiterated a few times; these diseases have no cure; only treatments. None of the treatments were initially developed for the disease; so its a balancing act between the meds and the disease. Take for example Lupus (which I have); the treatments are 'chemo'. If keeping it at bay isn't working then they basically try to wipe out your immune system in hopes that when it comes back it will somehow 'reset' itself. It works about half the time; maybe less. I'm sure I don't have to explain the side effects that come with chemo; but you do what you have to; sometimes hoping you can ward off the worst of the disease for longer. If I had to go bald and puke for a couple months in order to be able to sleep and walk without pain again; I'd do it. You have to be careful 'sucking it up' isn't detrimental to the long run of the disease. It's like waiting too long to get your breaks fixed. By the time you finally decide to do something about it; there is a whole lot more wrong. So PLEASE be careful leaving your health unchecked in any way. Fibro, high blood pressure, pap smears, mammograms, cholesterol and anything else you might be dealing with. ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Looking for last minute shopping deals?
