Hi everyone,

My name is . I'm 37. I've had fibro for at least the past 7

years that I can remember. I'm currently having the worst flare-up

that I've ever had. I just wanted to talk to others that can

understand what I'm feeling and tell me how they cope.

I've got terrible jaw, neck, shoulder, upper back, arm and chest

pains. (I've had my heart checked many times, last time was a

couple months ago and all is fine.) These are all on the left side

of my body and I believe them to be caused by the computer and

packing work I do. I tend to use my left side more than my right.

I've also got a bad case of fibro-fog, TMJ flare-up and dizziness.

Please, please tell me I'm not alone! Does anyone else feel this

way? I won't take prescription meds if I don't absolutely have to.

Does anyone find anything like ice or hot or anything works for the

pains? I try my best to stay away from all kinds of pills.

Thanks so much for letting me join.

Hi , welcome to the family. I must say that although,Im not a

fan of taking meds, dealing with Fibro I have found that the meds are a

must!! The heat helps, but the pain is so unreal that we have to have

something to numb our bodies to get some relief. I to have the chest

pains and all,I found that when Im in a flare I have severe muscle

spasms and that may be something to look into. I hope that helps some.

Take care,

Shundra

Hi Shundra,

Thanks for getting back to me. I've only been using Icy Hot patches (not

working) and Advil if I absolutely can't stand it. Do you get chest muscle

spasms? I hate the fact that it makes my chest hurt. I don't worry so much

about any other part of my body but chest pain is just scary even when you know

it's from the fibro flare.

,

Glad you joined the sight! I am 36, and have the TMJ neck and shoulder pain.

It is horrible. I do the same thing that you do, that is not meds unless nec.

I totally understand what you are feeling, it is nice to know that I m not alone

either. There are tons of people with this same pain.

Hi ,

I'm new too. I've only been here a few days and I feel better already knowing

others are in the same boat. Though I wouldn't wish it on anyone!! For me, when

my pain is really bad, I find that keeping the area warm helps. That's just me.

I'm actually having a good day pain wise, I'm exhausted, but that is pretty

normal! I had unreal pain Saturday in my left side, hip down, I took a half a

Vicodin and it actually eased up and I was able to do some housework. It was

such a relief. If you can avoid pills good for you. I sure don't take them if I

don't have to either.

Hope you are feeling better soon.
