Guest guest
Hi Okay you got me I went to the thyroid site, and saw the oriental language, and thought what?, then noticed the change language option. I clicked on English over and over but It would not go.? I was just interested in looking at it and info, though I had my thyroid taken surgically removed yrs ago. I had a bad goiter, and what they called a thyroid storm, before it was taken out. I almost died, 20 mins longer getting to hosp. and I would not have lived, though I was only 19, and symptoms up until then really did not fase me as I had after gaining wt, lost all kinds, lived off of funnybones and liters of cokecola, and continued loosing wt., was bouncing off walls, back then all those diet pills were out on the streets and they thought I surley had got into them, then it reversed again and wt. doubled, could not breath, huff and puff, etc, anyway I live off of synthroid but I have heard I could use natural replacement, Dr. says NO, I will die without med. I have no para thyroids either they had to be taken. Is anyone else able to access that site posted in English, or something wrong? Thanks Sharon Christi Randall wrote: Norma, Many, many people never question their doctor regarding thyroid problems. Go to the following web site and do some reading if you want to learn some more about how the thyroid works and what other options are out there for you. www.stopthethyroidmadness.com I too ran a low temp for years and never questioned it, until about 2.5 yrs ago. Learned differently and have made changes that are for the better. Good luck. Do not be suprised if the doctors want to remove your thyroid because of the nodules and the goiter. Those can be treated, but most doctors just want to remove the thyroid. If you would like other options, go read at the web site I listed above. Christi Randall www.singingwomenoftexas.com Re: How many of you run a low termperature? christie I have run a low temp for over 30 years since I was dig. with thyroid. I have blood tests every 3 months and they all say I am ok with the amount of medication I am on. Except, I have a very enlarged thyroid now, and a large goiter. I go Wed to have the Thyroid up take test. I had an ultra sound done already. It showed Goiter with Nodules. I think it read Nodule with many small nodules flowing in spider web like fashion. they could not determine if it was cold or not. She asked if I could come back for a needle biopsy and I said yes but they never called. I go the 24th to see a endocrinologist. I sure hope someone has some answers somewhere. Thanks for replying what you say is very interesting and I guess I never thought about if the med's were right. Norma/Ohio **************It's Tax Time! Guest guest
Sharon, First, so sorry to hear what you had to go through when you were younger with your thyroid. Sometimes it does go wacky, which is what yours did. I just went to the site and it is in english. Not sure what is happening. I did not use a saved link either, typed in the web address. I have heard of a lot of people having their thyroid removed and the paraglands getting damaged in the process. Don't know the age of your doctor, but you can go onto natural thyroid instead of the synthtic stuff. You do need the thyroid since your body can no longer make the hormones you need to live. I am going to say that there is a good chance your doctor was taught to use the TSH and synthroid as the " gold standard " and is being " taught " by the pharmacutical companies that natual thyroid medication is bad and unstable, which in truth is wrong. There have been more recalls on synthroid than armour (the natural medication that has been around for over 100 yrs and has NO side affects). It just takes a lot more work to find the correct dosage of armour and different tests which most docs will not do. They only get 4-8 hours of training in medical school on the thyroid. That is not very muc for a gland that regulates our bodies. If your thyroid is not in optimal working condition, your body will not function correctly either, Ok, getting off my soap box now. As you can see I am very passionate about this.
