Guest guest
Hey all My name is Rise " (pronounced Reesa) I have a question for all of you that have had this for longer than I have. Is it normal it have a really good day and then the next day be awful? I mean yesterday was such a great day for me, pain was limited and I felt good and was able to get alot of things done, Fell in the bed tired but fulfilled because I had gotten some things done. I got up this morning and my body is aching and hurting and I am so tired I can hardly hold my head up. But have to push to stay up with the kids. I guess I am wondering how you learn to be consistent instead of trying to catch up on the good days? Also how do you deal with the mind fog? I am just now beginning to realize that the unclear mind is from this and at 44 yrs old I feel like my body is no longer my friend but my enemy. Can you please give me some advice on how you deal with this problems AND if there are any types of vitamins that can help bring a clearer mind. Thanks so much< Rise' <http://geo.yahoo.com/serv?s=97359714/grpId=10519220/grpspId=1705061682/ msgId=87853/stime=1205266193/nc1=5191951/nc2=5191950/nc3=4763760>
Guest guest
Hi Rise. I have had this 11 years but only got my dx 1 1/2 years ago. It was caused by a fall that damaged the sciatic nerve going to my right leg. Anyway, it is very normal for me to be like that. I will have a day here and there that feels like I am almost normal. Everything has toned down to a dull ache. I try to get as much done as I can during that time but I always seem to over do it and the pain comes back with a bang. As to the brain fog. My kids are very used to me calling them every name I can think of before I hit the right one. I go though the kids names, the dogs, the cat and even some that aren't even in the family. Today all I could say was " You!! The short one!!! " My 8 year old asked me why I couldn't remember his name and I just told him that someone stole my brain. At 45 I am not senile just yet but I sure feel like it sometimes. Have patience the fog will lift. Even if for a short time. As I tell my long distance family. " Close your eyes, wrap your arms around yourself and squeeze, that is ME giving you a hug. " As big or as gentle as you can handle and whenever you need one. Guest guest
*Oh ya, that is definitely how fibro is for me. One day is good, the next, not so good. Can be frustrating at times. Mind fog is also another problem. I tend to keep a notebook and write things down, as I remember them, so I do not forget later. Now where did I put the notebook? lol* *Hugs,* ** > Hey all My name is Rise " (pronounced Reesa) I have a question for all of > you that have had this for longer than I have. > > Is it normal it have a really good day and then the next day be awful? Guest guest
I have had it for over 13 years. But just recently diagnosed. And from what I have learned do not push yourself too hard. Like yesterday I had gone for a walk. My pain level was like a 7. But I felt I needed to do it because with my doc being out I know another doc is not going to put in for a shot for me. I walked a couple blocks even though I wanted to do more. I wanted to make sure I did not overwork myself. You need to figure out what is best for you. Ok so today you feel overworked so you know now don't do all you did yesterday. cut it down a little each day till you figure out what works best for you. Hope this helps. Hugs, Krystal
Guest guest
Yes and yes. Fibro is the most unpredictable illness. We never know what the next day, for that matter the next hour, will hold. It changes daily. It sometimes will stay in a horrible flare for weeks or months, sometimes it comes and goes with symptoms from day to day, and sometimes (rarely for me) I feel almost normal. It is part of the stigma with this too. It designs itself to make us look like hypochondriacs. Mind fog... yes. I have it alot and it is worse now than it use to be. I am 43 and will be 44 in April. The brain fog has worsened along with the other symptoms the last 4 or so years. Welcome to the group. hugs, Debra V.
