Guest guest
Hey everyone it's been a long time since I've checked the board. I hope everyone is doing well. I am 8 weeks pregnant and thought I'd pop in and say hi. My fibro is actually doing REALLY well. I think I'm one of those lucky ones that pregnancy improves the pain. There has always been a hormonal component to my pain and my rheumy thinks my body just doesn't make enough hormones on its own. So let's just hope this lasts! I think I am more worried about the possible flare after I give birth and how a long labor may effect me. I was hoping for a natural birth but I am guessing an epidural might be a better option for me so that I can rest if the labor is long. Does anyone have any advice or input? Thanks! Guest guest
Congratulations!!! I felt good while pregnant but also got worse. I lived on my couch literally for the first 6 months of my baby's life. He'll be two years old in April. I've finally found a combo that works for me. It's weird but my little one actually straightened out menstrual problems that I had for years. It was real rough for awhile and I really wanted life to be over but, I kept trying everything I could to get better. It's a Blessing now because through that journey, I found what I like, don't like and am very confident in myself now. I was so insecure before. A life of love is worth living. I pray a great pregnancy, an awesome healthy baby and no pain in the name Of Jesus for you. If you need support, we are here. Create and Live your life by Design! Wishing you all good things and many Blessings from God, Crystal D. To: Fibromyalgia_Support_Group From: 4isit4us@... Guest guest
Well with my fibro got better until I got to be 8 months, then I hurt so bad I could barely walk. I was put on disability 2 weeks early because of it. And I got much worse after the birth of my 3rd son. Now I need a walker. So hopefully that does not happen to you, I am only 26 years old 27 on the 31st. Hope you take good care of you and that baby, And e-mail me if you have any questions my son is 7 almost 8 months now. Good Luck and yes get the epidural it will feel so great being pain free for a time. I want one now lol. Hugs, Krystal
Guest guest
Wow thanks everyone for the replies. I am contemplating breastfeeding for just a month or two so that I can go back on the pill right away. That way my hormones won't get too low again. I have determined that low hormones makes my fibro pain 1000 times worse. I stopped the pill in 2005 and I was off it for 4 months before conceiving and that's when the fibro got really bad. I miscarried and as soon as I went back on the pill I was fine again. So this time I stopped the pill and got pregnant 2 weeks later. I didn't want to give my body anytime to freak out without the hormones and it seems to have worked better for me this time. I truly appreciate all of your feedback and sharing your experiences with me. It sounds like the epidural is the way to go. I figure then I can at least sleep a bit through my labor and not be totally worn down afterwards. My rheumy also agrees that it may be better to wean early so that I can go back on my meds and not have a major flare. Charisse > > > Hey everyone it's been a long time since I've checked the board.
