Number of years until you found out

I'm new here and just recently have been told that I have fibromyalgia.

The truth is my doctor is a quack and I havn't even had any blood work

done yet to rule other things out. I have now been suffering for two

years and did'nt get anyhting for the pain until two months ago. They

tried me for one month on Tramadol and then this month on Lyrica.I was

very excited about the Lyrica, but it let me down. I'm actually full of

questions, but I'm going to start with this one.

How long did it take your doctor to figure out that you have

Fibromyalgia?

Took me 13 years. well a little over that lol.

My internist did all sorts of lab work to rule out anything like RA,

etc. She sent me to a rheumotologist who diagnosed me on first visit

and then told me there was nothing to be done. Am looking for new

doctor. Good luck and try to find a doctor who cares.

It took me 9 1/2 years to get diagnosed. And 4 different doctors. The fourth

finally paid attention to me and asked questions. I did get tested for Lupus,

RA, MS and several others but the all came back negative. I am still not on any

regular pain killer due to my fear of drugs so I have no one to blame but

myself. But I am still functioning. Not at 100% or even 50% at times but I

still make it to work every day.
