Guest guest
Hey- Just wanted to clarify thought how long getting diagnoised and how long till getting to the right place to be tested. I had suffered yrs ago, I am now 50, but when in 20's started with severe sypmtoms, unexplained onset of severe bone deep pain, loss of weight because I was so sick could not even barely get water down, and etc etc., got bounced around from Dr. Dr., the Endro thought it was my Graves Disease which I thought and since have been told don't suffer with anymore because my thyroid and para's were surgically removed back in 77., so one Dr. says no, the other says still will have the disease symptoms, anyway back then there was not even the idea of Fibro, so I ended up with, being a hyperchondriac, stressed out, over tired from 3 children, which was nuts!, I have always been hyper, and high strung and never felt that way. So I lived in pain, threw myself into work, cleaning fanatically, as I love it, and it was my pain therapy, but has become my enemy, as I pay dearly and have had to slow down. Then for some reason, things lightened up from 1996-until 4 yrs ago, low back pain, which I was able to treat at home for awhile, saying it was me getting older and had had a few injuries. Then things increased, have been to Dr. q 3 mo since, more symptoms which showed nothing would come up, blood work good, by the way I have been a frequent flyer at the MRI center for several areas of my body, if it was an airplane I would have earned 2 trips around the world by now! So anyway I have an awsome Primary Dr, who I can not say enough about, they searched and searched and then said I think it is time you see a Rhuemi, as they can test things out of this office expertise. I went and first visit, did the tests, all muscle trigger point stuff, happened to be swollen at elbow areas, and was diagnoised with this resentless disease. So hope this helps with your ?, and the best to you that you get good help. Take Care Sharon chainedtoabutterfly wrote: I'm new here and just recently have been told that I have fibromyalgia. The truth is my doctor is a quack and I havn't even had any blood work done yet to rule other things out. I have now been suffering for two years and did'nt get anyhting for the pain until two months ago. They tried me for one month on Tramadol and then this month on Lyrica.I was very excited about the Lyrica, but it let me down. I'm actually full of questions, but I'm going to start with this one. How long did it take your doctor to figure out that you have Fibromyalgia?
