Guest guest
I have been so lucky and hope to never have to give up my Dr's, they take so much time with me, listen and adress each and every inch of concern I have, My delemia is they are in Ma, just was there yesterday, and I have been up in Maine staying at my bro's house, as it is nice up here, less stressfull and keeps me close to one of my 3 children, who suffers with Chron's, but has done well since being put on Remicade 2 yrs ago. I say if you are anxious with feeling like your not getting time to go over everything with your Dr. tell them you should and are suppose to get time to adress concerns. I know though here in Maine a few yrs ago the Dr's were forced to have to cut down patient visit time from 30 mins to 15 min!, then I was working here as a private care giver and I know the elderly were outraged as they said it takes them that long to get out of there clothes and into the gowns when needed! I now write down all the important stuff on a list, and give it to them, for my own benifit as I forget, but maybe if you have a doctor who is hurried you could send it ahead, or hand it to them at time of visit let he/she look at it and go from there. I have been there where you are before though, the Dr. would come in the room and have one foot still out the door while seeing, me, and only say ah huh ah huh if I mentioned anything, makes your very anxious. I wish you better days. I was on that Neurontin several yrs back, and had to take the max. amt was up to 850mg a day, and did not like it, felt really foggy, and felt like I was on diuretic, and caused increased back pain but did try it and stayed on it, for over a yr even though I had asked to come off, different Dr. then, and discrets through kidneys, felt like that was what I was feeling, but good med for some. Anyways, after a stressful and tiring drive (I hate driving in cities) I arrived at my Dr.'s office to have an appointment that only lasted 15 minutes. We went over my test results and he pressed about 6 areas on my back and arms that really hurt and he put me on Gabapentin (Neurontin). The only thing I'm concerned about is that I didn't get the chance to go through my symptoms with him. I don't know maybe I'm worrying about nothing (darned anxiety monster) but I just feel that I've been swept under the rug. Do you guys ever have days when you just feel that nobody understands or even cares? I've been in pain my entire life and it just wears on me every day. Hoping y'all had better days than I did, Britt
