Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone out there lives in Michigan??? I need a rheumi who cares and wants to help. There is a fibro clinic locally but the office visits are $400.00 totally nuts in my book. Who has that kind of money???? Thanks ahead of time. /Mi
Guest guest
Isn't that kind of strange they can charge that much for a visit and most of them do not believe you anyway. Hmmmm very interesting. Also dont' you think if they are so fibro savvy that they should realize alot of us cannot afford that as we do not have jobs as we can't work and definitely alot do not have insurance. That makes no sense. There is someone out there for you just hang in there. That Fibro clinic doesnot soumd like it is grared to pthe people that really have Fibro. That is just absolutely ridiculous.! What is the name of theis place could you send me the name and address of the fibro clinic. Guest guest
yes, what was intersting, the neuro/sleep doc who did my last useless sleep/mslt test also treats fibro patients at another proactice he has near detroit, he told me he used to work at one of the fibro & fatigue centers. i have posted that i do think teitlebaum's book is the most medically comprehensive, but after using this idiot sleep/neuro/fibro doc only once, i seriously doubt i will be using those ridiculously priced fibro clinics, maybe as a last resort of some kind. but i told this sleep/neuro doc that i really think those centers are thiefs for charging what they do from very sick people, he then told me his fibro practice takes insurance. i still doubt they follow all the testing and treatment protocol in teitelbaums's book, and i would hope they would and should. i feel like spending the money for a consult and just taking the book in there and requesting every single blood test in the book and see if they will do it all. whether they will write all the scripts to try, as he recommends, is another issue. for instance, about stimulants, like ritalin/dexamphetamine/adderral...teitelbaum feels they are over used in kids with adhd but underused in fibro/cfids. but, will the fibro docs write more scripts for these stimulants than the average doc, i seriously doubt it.they are all audited the same. if i end up going to one of the centers, i will post an opinion and what did go on. if you get on their email list at www.vitality101.com, they have a link to the fatigue & fibro centers, get on the email list and i did get an email for a complimentry consult. it did not specify if that consult was with a nurse or doctor of just a person who " takes your history " . take care, marg > > Marg, No I didn't go...too expensive.
